چکیده

A gold(I) catalysed reaction between N-propargylic β-enaminones and arynes was developed to access 3-methylene-1-pyrrolines. The title compounds were obtained in 57-78% yields. This reaction is useful for the generation of substituted 1-pyrrolines exhibiting significant molecular complexity.

Gold(III) chloride catalysed synthesis of 5-alkylidene-dihydrothiazoles.

A two step synthesis of dihydrothiazoles is presented. First, the previously unknown N-propargylic dithiocarboimidates are produced in good yields from easily available, cheap starting materials. The subsequent gold catalysed ring closure is fast and efficient, leading to dihydrothiazoles through a cascade of 5-exo-dig cyclisation and 1,3-alkyl migration. The yields range from 74% to 95%.

Synthesis of new amino-1,5-benzodiazepine and benzotriazole derivatives from dimedone

High-yielding syntheses of two unpublished series of amino-1,5-benzodiazepines derivatives 3 and 1,2,3-benzotriazoles 4 bearing a dimedone moiety are respectively reported. Derivatives 3 were obtained by intramolecular cyclisation using cyanogenbromide of enaminone 2. On the other hand, when enaminones 2 were treated with sodium nitrite under acidic conditions, cyclisation led to benzotriazole 4.

Intercepting the Gold‐Catalysed Meyer–Schuster Rearrangement by Controlled Protodemetallation: A Regioselective Hydration of Propargylic Alcohols

The regioselective gold-catalysed hydration of propargylic alcohols to β-hydroxy ketones can be achieved by diverting the gold-catalysed Meyer-Schuster rearrangement through the addition of a protic additive with a pKa of 7-9 such as p-nitrophenol, boric acid or a boronic acid. This provides an interesting alternative to an aldol reaction when combined with the straightforward addition of an al...

Gold-catalysed alkenyl- and arylsilylation reactions forming 1-silaindenes.

In the presence of gold(I)-phosphine catalysts, alkenyl- and arylsilanes undergo intramolecular cyclisation reactions onto appendant alkyne moieties to afford 1-silaindene derivatives. The reaction pathways vary depending on the substituent on silicon.

Computational studies on the mechanism of the gold(I)-catalysed rearrangement of cyclopropenes.

Density functional theory calculations have been employed to investigate the mechanism of gold(I)-catalysed rearrangements of cyclopropenes. Product formation is controlled by the initial ring-opening step which results in the formation of a gold-stabilised carbocation/gold carbene intermediate. With 3-phenylcyclopropene-3-methylcarboxylate, the preferred intermediate allows cyclisation via nuc...
